It is with sincere condolences that the Putnam County VFA announces the recent passing of Life Member, Michael Fitzsimmons.

In addition to being a proud veteran of the US Navy, having served our country from 1966 through 1988, "Fitzy" also duly served his community throughout his 49 years with the LAKE CARMEL FD, during which time he served as its President, Vice-President, Lieutenant, member of the Board of Directors and Fire Police Lieutenant. His dedication to his country and community have been acknowledged by many, including the Putnam County VFA, where he also had 49 years of membership.

Mike Fitzsimmons was laid to rest on May 7, 2025. Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
