The PCVFA was organized in 1951. The general purpose of the PCVFA is the promotion and development of the firefighters and volunteer ambulance personnel of Putnam County, so that they may more effectively assist in the Firematic and EMS training of all the firefighters and ambulance personnel in the County, more successfully execute the specific works of the firefighters and ambulance personnel, and promote and encourage fire prevention and first aid education throughout Putnam County through the Putnam County Fire Departments and Volunteer Ambulance Corps
