| Chief David Gagnon of the Cottekill Fire Department was tragically killed while answering a call on July 3rd. He was 58. As reported by msn.com news, "A crew from the Cottekill Fire Department, including Gagnon, was called to a report of a downed tree blocking a roadway in the Town of Rosendale on Friday, July 3. While working to remove the tree, a portion of it unexpectedly snapped and struck him, according to the fire company. Gagnon died from his injuries."
