On Monday, July 28th, the Putnam County VFA presented both Chief ROBERT BODDIE, JR. (Continental Village FD) and Chief JEFFREY PHILLIPS, JR. (Cold Spring Fire Co. #1) with the prestigious FIREFIGHTER OF THE YEAR AWARD for their heroic and life-saving actions that allowed two burn victims to survive at a structure fire in January 2024.

Continental Village FD was also recognized with this year's UNIT CITATION for their immediate action upon their response to this call to knock this blaze down within a half hour and secure there were no additional victims above the primary search floor (word was there were two others missing but both were safely off-site).
